Airspace Lounge(TM) Opens at JetBlue’s Terminal 5 of John F. Kennedy International Airport

Posted: August 1, 2013 in Uncategorized

Airspace Lounge, a new-generation airport lounge network open to all airline passengers, opened today in John F. Kennedy International Airport’s Terminal 5 (T5). The newest Airspace Lounge facility operated by Swissport and the only airport lounge in T5 is conveniently located post-security near Gate 24 of T5, which serves JetBlue Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, and Aer Lingus.

Airspace Lounge offers any passenger flying on any airline a luxurious atmosphere that is post-security, separated from the concourse and steps away from every T5 gate. Airspace Lounge JFK T5 has been designed to specifically meet the needs of the modern air traveler with power outlets at every seat, a comprehensive food offering, complimentary Wi-Fi, a fully stocked bar, scanning and printing, private restrooms, and luxurious shower facilities; all for the exclusive use of Airspace customers.

“We invite all T5 passengers to visit Airspace Lounge where they’ll find a restful place to relax or work and complimentary food and beverage offerings, separate restrooms and showers, and a dedicated work area,” said Anthony Tangorra, president of Airspace Lounge and senior vice president — lounges at Swissport. “For a reasonable price, passengers can access the lounge quickly and conveniently at our post-security location.”

“The new Airspace Lounge in JFK’s Terminal 5 is another opportunity for our customers to relax and enjoy the travel experience,” said Marty St. George, senior vice president of marketing and commercial strategy at JetBlue Airways. “We have thoughtfully created experiences at T5 to inspire travelers coming in and out of JFK. The Airspace Lounge will be an accessible and affordable option for those who are looking for even more comfort and privacy within the terminal.”

Airspace Lounge will open each day well before the first T5 flight until boarding of the last T5 departure of the day. Entry fees starting at $25 with no membership or long-term commitment required. This entry fee includes complimentary espresso, cappuccino, Peet’s Coffee and Tea, soft drinks, small snacks and fruit, printing and scanning, use of house computers, Wi-Fi, use of private restrooms and shower facilities, plus a $10 credit to purchase items from Airspace’s premium menu including alcoholic beverages*. Airspace’s premium food menu includes hot breakfast sandwiches, interestingly crafted canapés, gourmet sandwiches, and dessert selections, all priced under $10 and therefore accessible when using the $10 credit. Airspace’s bar features local, craft beers, a wide selection of spirits, and the Wine Bar at Airspace Lounge offers nearly a dozen premium wines from around the world by the glass or in half bottle formats.

This new lounge, along with Airspace Lounges at BWI and CLE, is a proud member of the American Express® Airport Club Access Program. Platinum Card® members, with their immediate family or up to two guests, can enjoy complimentary access. To gain admission, simply present the club agent with your Platinum Card and your ticket valid for same-day travel.
